In response to an ACLU lawsuit, the Pentagon had been court-ordered to release photos of detainee abuse in U.S. facilities from 2001-2006.  The photos, many from Bagram, (detention facilities doubled to hold 60,000 detainees) would have shown
that torture was pervasive, not an aberration. But the release was blocked. Four torture memos revealed in sadistic detail that the Bush lawyers orchestrated the torture of detainees.

The Obama Administration is continuing indefinite detention, CIA rendition, executive powers, and denying detainee right of legal challenge. Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi knew about the torture as early as 2002.
